An Affair of the Heart Craft Show – Feb 8, 9, and 10

Do you love crafts?  If so, you’ll enjoy An Affair of the Heart, a huge craft show that’s only in Oklahoma!  This isn’t just a one-day little craft fair where you’ll find maybe thirty tables and a few neat items.  No, An Affair of the Heart is a huge three day event that takes up seven buildings at the OKC fairgrounds and features over 1,000 different exhibitors!

An Affair of the Heart comes around twice a year – once in February and once in October. For 2008, the dates are Feb. 8, 9, and 10 and Oct. 24, 25, and 26.  It’s $6.00 for admission, but that admission covers all three days of the event, so you can come and go as you like.

Mmmm, Chocolate!  Who doesn’t love that rich, sugary taste of one of life’s greatest treats?  And if you’re in Oklahoma City on February 7, you can attend a very special, very chocolatey event.  Chocolate Decadence 2008 is both a widely anticipated event and a pre-Valentine’s Day tradition for OKC.  Chocolate Decadence 2008 runs from 5:30 until 8:00 pm at the Hudson-Essex Office Lofts located at 825 North Broadway.

What will you find at Chocolate Decadence?  Obviously, a ton of chocolate!  You’ll be able to sample treats from some of Oklahoma City’s finest restaurants and caterers.  Some of the attending sweet makers include Brown’s Bakery, CocoFlow, Deep Fork, Mickey Mantle’s Steakhouse, Nonna’s, Tom & Jerry’s, and the Bricktown Brewery.

The Myriad Gardens

The Myriad Gardens is one of the most well-known areas in Oklahoma City.  In fact, the Crystal Bridge is often included in official pictures of Oklahoma City, especially the downtown area.  Located in the heart of the city, the gardens are host to a variety of events throughout the year, plus they make a great place for people to take a picnic, spend a Sunday afternoon, or just escape from the world on their lunch break.

A shot of downtown from the gardens.  Note the Crystal Bridge on the right.
