Lately, many different farmers’ markets have been cropping up in Oklahoma City. Maybe I just wasn’t aware of them before, but it seems like they’re all over now. If you’re looking for fresh vegetables, handmade goods and foods, or even some jewelry and hand-woven baskets, you can find them all at these farmer’s markets. There are several different farmers’ markets you can check out if you’re looking for some tasty produce.

If you’ll be in Oklahoma City in September, here are some of the great events you can check out. With the temperatures cooling down, you don’t have to worry about melting in the heat. The oppressive August temperatures are mostly gone, and OKC has had some very nice days lately. Head outside and enjoy them!

Oklahoma City may see new railways in the future. The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has partnered with the Kansas Department of Transportation for a stimulus grand to improve and expand on the current railways. Both departments have pledged $125,000 to this project. The money would be used for several projects, but the one OKC residents will be most interested in is the plan to create an intercity passenger rail service that will connect Kansas City, OKC, and Fort Worth in Texas. Are you trying to get away from the fattening, unhealthy foods that seem to be all that fast food places serve? If so, you may want to check out Coffy’s Café. This new little café in OKC features all gluten-free and natural meals. They have selections for just about any diet, including vegetarian. I stopped by Coffy’s the other day and was quite surprised by the number of different things on their menu. They had some incredibly tasty looking donuts, brownies, cakes, and cookies, all of which were gluten-free. I tried one of their brownies, and it was very good. Read more...
