Give Back This Holiday Season

As the holiday season begins here in Oklahoma City, I’d like to take a short minute to remind everyone that the season isn’t just about buying gifts, eating a lot of food, and spending time with friends and family.  The holiday season is also about giving back and about remembering and helping those less fortunate.  OKC, like all major cities, has its share of homeless, jobless, and those who have fallen on hard times.

Construction at the Mall

It’s the time again—holiday shopping.  However, Oklahoma’s highway department has decided this is also the perfect time to do some construction around the Penn Square Mall area.  This makes for some very interesting traffic patterns around the area, especially on the weekends.  And unless they get their work done soon, it’s only going to get worse as more and more people start shopping.  The ultimate goal of the construction seems to be to make two turn lanes into the mall from Northwest Expressway instead of the one that was there, so it will help the traffic situation once it’s finished.

Okie’s Café

It’s fairly unusual for me to be on the south side of Oklahoma City, but I happened to be running a few errands that took me down that way a few days ago, and I drove past Okie’s Café.  I had eaten there once before when it was under a different name (I really can’t even remember what it was called then), so I decided to stop in for lunch.
