December Events in OKC

The holiday season is upon us!  If you need to work off some of those Thanksgiving pounds, there’s plenty to do in Oklahoma City this December that will get you up and moving about (or at least out of the house).

The Downtown in December events run all month long.  You can enjoy ice skating, snow tubing, and much more.  I’ve done a more in-depth article on these events, so check it out.

Deck the Zoo will be running Dec. 1 – 24 at the OKC zoo.

Dec. 1-2 – Trans-Siberian Orchestra at the Ford Center

Oklahoma City in LEGO

As a kid, I have fond memories of building cool castles, spaceships, and racetracks out of LEGO bricks.  I’ll admit, I’ve even played with some LEGOs as an adult.  These cool little bricks let you build just about anything you can imagine.  So what did LEGO Master Builder Kurt Zimmerle imagine?  Oklahoma City!

Downtown in December is Returning to Oklahoma City

If you have lived in Oklahoma City any length of time, then you know that winters here are unpredictable and can range from mild to severe.  Because of this it can be difficult at times for children and adults to enjoy the winter festivities like sledding or ice skating.  It is understandable then how it was rather pleasant the first time that Downtown in December started back in 2002.  For the first time I was able to ski on an outdoor arena and enjoy snow tubing.  These were things that most people my age had bragged about doing when they were kids, but I was now approaching them with a sense of wonder and abandonment.
