Ingrid’s Kitchen is one of those places I’ve heard about but just, for whatever reason, never visited. I recently had the chance to go there for lunch with a friend, and while the food was pretty good, the bakery is what blew me away. You’ll be amazed at the sheer number of cakes, cookies, and other desserts Ingrid’s master bakers whip up each day.

Oklahoma City has a number of different districts and areas that we think our readers would love exploring. That’s why we’re going to start a series of articles discussing each of these areas and what they have to offer visitors. We’ll be doing one a month, and this month we’re shining a spotlight on the Asian District.

Headed to Oklahoma City this May? If you are, you’ll find a lot of fun spring events. We have a lot going on year-round, of course, but in May, OKC events tend to start moving outdoors. We’ve got to get in as much as possible before the dreaded summer heat waves hit! Here are some select activities going on in OKC in May.
There are many different awareness walks and conventions that take place around Oklahoma City throughout the year. This May 5th, is the PieceWalk and 5k marathon put on by the good people at www.autismoklahoma.org.
The reason that this walk is so different from many of the others is that it is local. This group is one that works to make sure that all of the money they raise is directly given to help families with autistic families in Oklahoma, and one hundred percent of the money raised stays in Oklahoma to benefit families here. In fact, the walks for the last two years have helped to provide funding to programs that have benefitted families all throughout the state. There have been close to $87,500 worth of grants awarded in the last two years alone.
