High School Musical 2 Blasts into OKC

If you’ve got teens, changes are you’ve had to sit through countless viewings of the High School Musical movies.  Now the stage version of High School Musical 2 is coming to the Oklahoma City Civic Center.  This musical will run from June 25 to June 28.  There will be five shows in all, one each evening (7:30 on the 25th and 8:00 on the other three nights) and a matinee performance at 2:00 pm on Saturday.

Like the movie, the musical follows the characters of the HSM trilogy: Troy, Gabriella, Ryan, Sharpay, Kelsi, Chad, Taylor, and all of their friends as they search for work during the summer vacation before their senior year of high school.  The whole group ends up at the same resort, but their summer plans are jeopardized when Sharpay starts trying to win Troy away fro Gabriella.

The show is a Lyric Theatre production, so you know it will be very high quality.  While adults without teenagers may want to skip this one, those who want to score some major points with their kids will certainly want to pick up tickets.  Depending on where you sit, tickets range from $23 to $55.  Anyone under 18 can get a student discount.  For more information, visit
