Free Holiday Trolley and Boat Rides

If you’re going to be in Oklahoma City during the holiday season, you might want to take advantage of the free trolley and boat rides.  These free rides are being offered as part of the 8th annual Downtown In December program.  The downtown trolleys will be free to ride starting November 29 and will continue through December 31.  The Oklahoma Spirit Trolley gives visitors the opportunity to explore everything downtown Oklahoma City has to offer without worrying about parking or dealing with the traffic.  You can find more information on the trolley routes and schedules at

The Oklahoma River Holiday Cruises are again running during December, and like the trolleys, they introductory cruises are free to ride.  The cruises begin on November 29 and end on December 27.  Guests can view the many different holiday lights and decorations from either the heated cabin or the open-air deck while cruising up and down the river.  Hot cocoa and holiday music complete the package.  Passengers board this holiday cruise at Regatta Park located at 701 S. Lincoln Blvd.  More information can be found at

If you’d like to see everything that Downtown In December has to offer, visit their official website at  It promises to be a great holiday month in downtown OKC!  I’m writing another post that outlines all of the events, so check it out.

Here are a few other thoughts on these events:

The free ride program looks great. But i am not preparing to come to Oklahoma in this year. I will come there on April 2010, so hope the free program still run on that time 🙂

We missed the cruises this year, but hope to make them next year. We had too many other commitments over the holidays. 🙂
