This Valentine’s Day, everyone’s going to be heading out to romantic little restaurants or cooking intimate little dinners. Buying flowers, giving chocolates, and exchanging other gifts are all traditional Valentine’s Day events, but what about those who want to do something a little different? Here are some Valentine’s Day ideas that are unique to OKC.
One thing new to Oklahoma City this Valentine’s Day is the personal delivery of a special message to your loved one by Rumble the Bison, the official mascot of the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball team. Now, it’s not going to be cheap—the going price is $249. However, this gets you a nice package deal. Rumble will arrive at your loved one’s home or office with a full sound system playing a romantic love song. He will take pictures with your significant other, give him or her a gift basket full of Thunder items, candy, chocolate, and a card, and sign autographs. It will be a lot of fun for everyone involved, and you’ll even get an email with digital pictures.
The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum will be having a dinner and dance on February 13 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. It will be held at the Sam Noble Special Events Center and includes a full dinner and dessert before the dance. It’s $29.98 per person, and reservations are required.
Another, more expensive option is the four course meal for two offered at the Prohibition Room. They start serving at 6:30 p.m. Dinner includes shrimp, ribeye or salmon, and more. It’s $150. In addition to dinner and live music, you’ll also receive two ceramic roses created by artist Nicole Moan.
The Skirvin hotel also has several great Valentine’s Day dinner options. Their four course meals are $69 per person, and ladies receive a rose along with their dessert.
Finally, if you want something a bit more casual and a little cheaper, all of the Oklahoma City area Papa John’s Pizzas will be delivering heart-shaped pizzas on Valentine’s Day. You can get one single-topping thin-crust and a side of chocolate pastry delights for $14.95 or two pizzas for $19.95.
