Oklahoma Regatta Festival 2010

Ready to hit the river for another Oklahoma Regatta Festival?  The 2010 festival takes place on the Oklahoma River in what is now being called the Boathouse District.  It features rowing and kayaking competitions between university teams from around the country.  The regatta is being held October 9 and 10.

What does it include?  Well, on Saturday, the Head of the Oklahoma Regatta event starts at 11:00 a.m.  Visitors can cheer on their favorite collegiate or club team as the row the 2.5 miles against others.  Later, at 7:30 p.m., the river will host the OGE Night Sprints, short races featuring many of the same teams.  The day tops off with a fireworks extravaganza.  Of course, food, live entertainment, and more are available during the day to keep you entertained between races.

On Sunday, the racing starts again at 8:30 a.m.  Everything wraps up at noon, so be sure to head out early if you’re planning on going on Sunday.  Admission to all of the events is free, and surprisingly, parking is free as well.
