Every year, there are different events and specials in Oklahoma City for Valentine’s Day. This special romantic day is a great day for celebration, so take your significant other out and show him or her an awesome time (and then go home and snuggle!). Here are some great V-Day events happening this year.
If your significant other is a big fan of the OKC Thunder sports team, send them a personalized Valentine’s Day message and gifts delivered by the Thunder mascot Rumble the Bison. He will make his deliveries from February 11 to the 14. In addition to the gift basket you select, Rumble will take a picture with the recipient and sign autographs.
For a nice night out, head down to the Skirvin hotel. The hotel restaurant, Park Avenue Grill, will offer a special Valentine’s Day dinner from Feb. 12 to the 14 plus a Sunday brunch from 11 to 2. The four-course dinner is $45 a person, while brunch and champagne is $29.95.
The National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum will once again host their annual Valentine’s Dinner and Dance on February 12 from 6 to 10. DJ Ronnie Kaye will provide the music. The cost is $39.95 a person, and reservations are required.
The Melting Pot (one of my favorite restaurants, when I can afford to eat there!) has a special four-course lunch and dinner special for Valentine’s. In addition to the cheese fondue, salad, filet mignon, shrimp, potstickers, and strawberry mascarpone chocolate fondue, you also get a complimentary champagne flute. Reservations are a must, and the cost is a whopping $130 per couple. Like I said, it’s a great place to eat, but it’s expensive!
Finally, the event I think I’m going to do: the Romantic River Cruise. Oklahoma River Cruises will be offering a special 90-minute romantic cruise on Valentine’s Day from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. The cruise is $35 per person and includes hors d’oeuvres, beverages, live music, and a cash bar. Once again, make a reservation since the space on the boat is limited.
