Small Italian Restaurant Setting Provides Homemade Ingredients to Oklahoma City Guests

If you are like me, then you enjoy finding small, out of the way restaurants because you never know what you are going to find.  The other day I joined my brother and his family for dinner at The Caffé Pranzo.  When we first stepped into the restaurant I was not sure of what we were going to find; however, we were instantly greeted with a warm welcome and seated at a nearby table.  The atmosphere is intimate and the walls are decorated with a wide variety of local art that is readily available for sale if you find a piece that you like.  Also, each table has a different interesting set of salt and pepper shakers, and there is a small collection of other shakers on display, creating a unique look and feel.

All of these things aside, one of the most appealing things about Caffé Pranzo was that right off the bat we were introduced to the owner.  Plus, we were informed that all of the pasta that was used at the Caffé (from the noodles to the ravioli), were made fresh and by hand each morning from someone in the Oklahoma City area.  Since I have never had “fresh” pasta, I was excited about this prospect and decided to order the three cheese ravioli. My brother ordered a Caesar salad, and his wife ordered the pasta with garlic sauce and chicken with a small side of vegetable soup.  Each order also came with fresh homemade bread.

One of the first things that I noticed about my ravioli was that it was very tender and extremely soft.  I do not think that I have ever tasted pasta so perfectly cooked as there were no dry or ragged spots on it at all.  My sister-in-law was also impressed with her pasta, but her main rave was how wonderful and fresh the soup was.  Everything was well prepared and tasty, not to mention reasonably priced and served with a smile.

However skeptical I might have been about the restaurant to begin with, I can assure you that the Caffé Pranzo is definitely a place that you should consider trying.  It is a gem, and it set a very high standard for my Italian tastes from now on.  Their website is available at
