OK Shakespeare in the Park Returns

Do you love Shakespeare?  If you do, you don’t want to miss any of this season’s Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park.  This year, the group is moving back to the Myriad Garden’s Water Stage.  The Myriad Gardens have finally finished being renovated, so now’s the perfect time to check them out and stay for a show.  The water stage now features more permanent seating, so you don’t even need to bring blankets or lawn chairs!

The Summer 2011 schedule looks to be really good.  All shows start at 8:00 pm.  Here are the shows being produced this season:

The Merry Wives of Windsor runs June 30 – July 2 and July 7 – July 9.  This classic Shakespearian play features the amusing Sir John Falstaff.

The Seagull runs July 14 – 16, 21 – 23, and 28 – 30.  While it’s not a Shakespeare play (it was written by Russian playwright Anton Chekhov), it’s still a very interesting drama.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream is every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in August.  One of my favorite Shakespeare comedies, it follows the hilarious adventures of several groups of mortals and the interference of the mischievous Puck.

As always, you can take a picnic dinner to the show, or bring plenty of snacks and drinks.  I’m looking forward to seeing these plays, especially A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
