Fine Dining in Oklahoma City at Castle Falls

There are many times when I have felt like I am stuck in a rut when it comes to eating out.  Any time you start looking for somewhere to go for a romantic dining experience there are only so many options, but one of them that I am constantly overlooking is Castle Falls.  However, I recently decided that I needed to correct this mistake and booked a reservation for two and prepared myself for a unique dining experience.  Since I was looking for something intimate and special I decided to go with The Primrose option, this includes a five course menu.

I was excited to get started, and the atmosphere was definitely something unique.  The rooms had been carefully renovated and were all beautifully designed and laid out to enhance the unique appeal of the restaurant.  Not to mention the fact that no one under the age of thirteen is allowed in this area of the restaurant, meaning that this could truly be a removed and romantic experience.

While I do have to say that the atmosphere was as excellent as promised and that the menu was laid out with interesting options, overall I would have to say that I left the restaurant feeling a lot less excited about continuing to keep this as an open option for future dining.  I had the steak and my date enjoyed the chicken, not to mention the wonderful beer cheese soup that we enjoyed as an appetizer beforehand.  While the food was good, I had trouble reconciling the quality with the bill.

I knew going in that it was going to be a minimum of $40 – $60 a person, but add in a bottle of wine and tip and you are already close to two hundred dollars.  I am not a cheap date, but for the price that we were paying we could have gone to a top tier restaurant, and frankly I just did not feel that the food was of that level or quality.  It is a beautiful place to visit, and the food was definitely something worth trying once, but it might be better to try the cellar dining first so that you can see what you like without having to buy all five courses up front.
