25th Annual Fall Peace Festival

Have you started your Christmas shopping yet?  Well, time is starting to tick down!  If you’re looking for some really unique or different gifts, we’ve got just the thing for you: the 25th Annual Fall Peace Festival.  This festival features more than 50 different local craftsmen and social justice groups.  It will be held on Saturday, November 12, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Admission is completely free, too!

The festival has two main features: shopping and entertainment.  Who doesn’t love at least one of those?  The shopping feature will be handled by local groups and artists.  You’ll find jewelry, clothing, and many other decorative items just in time for the holidays.  Plus, you’re sure to find at least one great holiday gift for someone.

The Oklahoman Vegetarian Society will be on hand offering free snacks, egg rolls, and even some recipes so you can recreate these tasty treats at home.  Other food choices comes from World Neighbors, who will be offering fair trade goods like coffees, foods, and other items from Central America, Africa, and Asia.

On the entertainment side of things, there will be a number of local musicians and groups performing.  They include Steve McLinn, a world class hand drummer, and dancers from the Aalim School of Dance.

The Peace Festival’s goal is to promote diversity, tolerance, and the open sharing of different ideas, cultures, and religions.
