Chocolate Decadence 2008 – Feb. 7th

Mmmm, Chocolate!  Who doesn’t love that rich, sugary taste of one of life’s greatest treats?  And if you’re in Oklahoma City on February 7, you can attend a very special, very chocolatey event.  Chocolate Decadence 2008 is both a widely anticipated event and a pre-Valentine’s Day tradition for OKC.  Chocolate Decadence 2008 runs from 5:30 until 8:00 pm at the Hudson-Essex Office Lofts located at 825 North Broadway.

What will you find at Chocolate Decadence?  Obviously, a ton of chocolate!  You’ll be able to sample treats from some of Oklahoma City’s finest restaurants and caterers.  Some of the attending sweet makers include Brown’s Bakery, CocoFlow, Deep Fork, Mickey Mantle’s Steakhouse, Nonna’s, Tom & Jerry’s, and the Bricktown Brewery.

In addition to the fine chocolate samples you’ll get to taste, Chocolate Decadence attendees will also be treated to gourmet coffees, sparkling champagne, and a selection of fine wines.  Of course, while these drinks are tasty, none can compare to the chocolate martinis served by LiT!  Those are certainly not to be missed (and are one of the reasons why Chocolate Decadence attendees must be 21).

But it’s not all about eating as many chocolate samples as you can.  Chocolate Decadence features two other important activities.  The first is the live jazz band.  While you’re making your way from booth to booth (and truffle to chocolate martini), the soft sound of the band provides a very nice background and creates a wonderful atmosphere.

The other important aspect to the evening is the benefit auction.  With gifts selected to make your Valentine’s Day even more romantic, the Chocolate Decadence auction will surely have at least one item you just can’t resist.  The auction will include donated artwork, restaurant gift cards, coats from Geno’s Furs, and, the highlight of the event, a beautiful piece of jewelry from Samuel Gordon’s.  The items up for auction will make incredible Valentine’s Day gifts, or just a nice something new for yourself.

Again, Chocolate Decadence is on Thursday, February 7, at the Hudson-Essex Office Lofts.  Tickets are $50 and have to be purchased in advance, so if you’re planning to attend, head over to or call 706-7484 to purchase your tickets.  You’ll need to wear business attire to the event, and as stated above, you must be at least 21.  While it’s a bit expensive, it also sounds like an incredible event for chocolate lovers.  If you’re like me and have a huge sweet tooth, Chocolate Decadence 2008 can’t be missed!
