The Rink Gallery is Definitely an Interesting Experience

The Rink’s name is derived from the fact that it used to be an ice skating area where kids of all ages could enjoy playing hockey or figure skating.  Now the ice has been removed, and the twenty seven thousand square feet of space has been turned into a winding pathway with thousands of different items showcased by the more than one hundred different dealers and artisans.  The high ceilings that were originally built as part of the ice rink, now serve to make the gallery have a very lofty feeling, so that even though the path can feel cramped at times, I did not ever get the feeling of claustrophobia.

If you are a collector, then this place is like a dream come true.  I was able to find some reasonably priced wall décor as well as a few books that I either hadn’t seen in stores since I was a child or new ones that I might be interested in reading later.  There were also several different booths with a good selection of antiques.

My recommendation is to go sometime when you have a few hours to kill, as you will definitely find yourself winding through the different booths looking for lost treasures and envisioning yourself on the next episode of Antiques Roadshow.

The Rink is located in Bethany, just off of NW 32nd and Rockwell on the east side of the road.

More blogs about the Rink:

Lori Wilson has some images of the Rink on her blog.

Likewise, Barbara Crews has explored the Rink and written about it.

The Rink, of course, has its own blog with images and news.

What’s available at the Rink?  The Apartment 48 blog shows off some buys.

It is such a pity that the ice has been removed…
But The Rink Gallery is also a good thing!
