Lee’s Sandwiches Comes to OKC…Finally!

For the past year, I’ve gone past the Lee’s Sandwiches site on Classen and wondered when, if ever, the store would be finished.  Well, this past summer, the restaurant finally opened.  I’ve eaten at Lee’s Sandwiches a few times, and I have to say, it’s quite an interesting place.

Lee’s Sandwiches serves a large variety of things.  The menu includes a mixture of Asian and European sandwiches, coffee, ice cream, and a number of other things.  You’ll find standard sandwiches like ham and cheese, roast beef, and turkey club on the European section.  If you’re looking for something a bit more exotic, you may want to try the jambon and pork roll, the Asian veggie sandwich, or Lee’s combination.

I’ve had a couple of sandwiches from Lee’s, but my favorite thing to get there is dessert and coffee.  Their iced coffee mocha is as good as that from Starbucks, and their cookie monster ice cream is amazing.  They also have some very…interesting flavors of ice cream like green tea, cool cantaloupe, and taro.  I’m not exactly sure what taro ice cream is.  I’ll admit I haven’t been brave enough to try it!

In addition to their full sandwiches, you can get baguettes, croissants, hot wings, and spring rolls.  These make great snacks or light lunches if you don’t want a full sandwich or want to snack on something with your coffee.

Lee’s Sandwiches is a good sized place, and its many menu options can make it a great place to meet friends either for lunch or for dessert and coffee.  The prices are right, too.  I do have to say that while Lee’s is certainly very good, it hasn’t quite topped my list of sandwich restaurants (I think that still be longs to Panera Break), but if you’re looking for something a little different, I think you’ll enjoy it.
