Oklahoma City has a lot of different cool little burger joints, but none of them is quite as little Nic’s Grill. This small building sits on the corner of Pennsylvania and 12th street, but without its sign, you’d think it was a small house or even a storage building. However, don’t judge Nic’s by its size—it’s a really awesome burger place!

Ingrid’s Kitchen
April 30th, 2012 · No Comments
Ingrid’s Kitchen is one of those places I’ve heard about but just, for whatever reason, never visited. I recently had the chance to go there for lunch with a friend, and while the food was pretty good, the bakery is what blew me away. You’ll be amazed at the sheer number of cakes, cookies, and other desserts Ingrid’s master bakers whip up each day.

Fine Dining in Oklahoma City at Castle Falls
September 30th, 2011 · No Comments
There are many times when I have felt like I am stuck in a rut when it comes to eating out. Any time you start looking for somewhere to go for a romantic dining experience there are only so many options, but one of them that I am constantly overlooking is Castle Falls. However, I recently decided that I needed to correct this mistake and booked a reservation for two and prepared myself for a unique dining experience. Since I was looking for something intimate and special I decided to go with The Primrose option, this includes a five course menu.

Mutt’s Amazing Hot Dogs
June 30th, 2011 · No Comments
When I heard that the owners of Big Truck Tacos (one of Oklahoma City’s best taco places) were opening a hot dog place, I was curious. They’ve added their own unique spin on the taco, and I wanted to see what they’d do to hotdogs. My chance came when a friend I hadn’t seen for a few months emailed and wanted to have lunch to catch up.

In the Mood to Try Something New and A Little Different? Try RePUBlic Gastropub
February 1st, 2011 · 1 Comment
Every now and then I go to a place not sure of what to expect, and I am more than a little surprised. My experience with RePUBlic Gastropub was like this. My friends and I went to the restaurant and one of the first things that I noticed was how busy it was. We met on a Friday night, but we were able to get there relatively early (before 7:00), and it was still more than an hour wait before we were able to get a table.

This special romantic day is a great day for celebration, so take your significant other out and show him or her an awesome time (and then go home and snuggle!). Here are some great V-Day events happening this year.
If your significant other is a big fan of the OKC Thunder sports team, send them a personalized Valentine’s Day message and gifts delivered by the Thunder mascot Rumble the Bison. He will make his deliveries from February 11 to the 14. In addition to the gift basket you select, Rumble will take a picture with the recipient and sign autographs.

Kamp’s Market & Deli
July 31st, 2010 · No Comments
If you live in Northwestern Oklahoma City, especially if you’re a student at Oklahoma City University, you’ve probably heard of Kamp’s Market & Deli. This little store is located at NW 25th street and Classen. The outside of Kamp’s doesn’t look like much—it looks like it could use a good coat of paint, actually…but don’t judge this book by its cover.
The inside of Kamp’s looks nothing like the outside. It’s very comfortable, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. You may see a few students scattered around the place studying, and there may even be some live musical entertainment if you come at the right time.

McNellie’s Pub
February 28th, 2010 · No Comments
I had always liked the look of the building on the corner of 10th and Walker. The streets do something weird here (who knows what the city planner was thinking), and they split off in a V shape. The building between the two streets actually gets wider as it goes back, making it look really interesting. Above this building, which had been empty for quite a while, were huge letters spelling out “Plaza Court.” I hadn’t been down by the Plaza Court building in a while, but a group of friends invited me to go with them to McNellie’s. I’d never heard of it before, and I was surprised to find my unique building was now home to a pub.
